As a family, we used to take annual summer vacations by camping at the 1,000 Islands, Alexandria Bay in Clayton New York. I have some really fond childhood memories of these vacations and spending time with my older brother at the beach -those were special and precious times. Shark Week Inspired Jewelry Designs That Are Nothing To Be Afraid of!

Although the official Shark Week 2014 has ended, for shark enthusiasts the frenzy (pun intended!) continues long after. I'll be the first to admit I'm completely fascinated with sharks. Scared as heck by them, but totally fascinated. Which is a good (and very logical reason) why I won't swim any where I can't see the bottom! LOL

It shouldn't be too far-fetched then to see where the inspiration came from for a few of my beaded jewelry creations. Inspired by the crystal blue ocean water, the deep sea and what lies beneath. Romantic Rose Swarovski Crystal Beaded Earrings

The premise would be, now that the holidays are over, it's time to focus and get back to business. Right?

Well, that was the game plan for yesterday (Sunday), until....the weather was slated to be in the upper 60s. For January, that's crazy!! But, sure enough, it hit 69 degrees! I almost felt like heading out and getting some flowers to plant!

Instead, I got some walking time in. As well as, play time with my daughter; who, in case I haven't mentioned, is just giddy in love with pink.

I do believe her philosophy is: I am Pink, therefore, I am. Pink, pink, pink...everything must be pink. While I prefer a more vibrant shade of pink, she does look adorable in any shade of the color. No matter the shade of pink, you cannot argue, it is a very feminine, girly color.

When talking about the hue of pink, there are three levels:

• Brighter pinks tend to be more youthful, fun, and exciting
• Vibrant pinks tend to be sensual and passionate
• Softer pinks tend to be associated with romance and the blush of a young woman's cheeks

Ironically, my mother, daughter and myself all celebrate our birthdays in February, which is also, the month of celebrating love and romance on Valentine's Day.

Summer isn't over just yet. In fact, it doesn't officially end until September 22nd.

The sun is still shining. The weather is still warm. We're still wearing our bright colored summer clothes. And we're still dreaming of summer vacations taken this year.

With the new school year beginning soon (and for some it's already begun), you're probably busy running around getting all the necessary school supplies, new clothes and bus schedules for your child(ren).

For me, this is already done. We didn't jump into getting new clothes as we think our child will hit a growth spurt this year and didn't want to buy clothes that might not fit in a few months. So, she can survive on her current wardrobe. But, all other school supplies are checked off the list. We're ready for the school bus.

But, with the new school year starting, I'm kinda sad to see summer coming to an end. So, I'm still summer shopping...for myself.
